Enrolling for Fall 2026

Where Learning Begins with
Movement & Play

Arts-integrated preschool for ages 3-4 at the Ballet Academy of South Texas.

More Than Preschool.
A Creative Beginning.

SPARK stands for Social growth, Play, Arts, Readiness and Kindness. It is a private, half-day fine arts preschool enrichment program developed by Ballet Academy of South Texas for children ages 3-4.

Through ballet, tap, creative movement, acrobatic arts, and visual arts, your child will build coordination, musicality, focus, and confidence while developing the academic and social skills they need for kindergarten.

Our curriculum combines Frog Street and Zoo Phonics with premier dance training so your child learns through movement and play every single day. We focus on the whole child, blending early literacy, math, science, and social-emotional learning with the joy of creative expression.

Located in the heart of downtown Victoria, SPARK takes learning beyond the classroom. Library time happens at the Victoria Public Library. Art projects come to life at the Nave Museum. Our students explore, discover, and grow through real experiences in real places right here in their community.

This is not a daycare. It is an enriching experience built around how young children learn best.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is SPARK Fine Arts Preschool?
SPARK is a private, half-day preschool enrichment program for children ages 3-4, developed by Ballet Academy of South Texas. The program integrates ballet, tap, creative movement, and acrobatic arts with early childhood enrichment and kindergarten readiness. Classes run Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

For more information, see our Parent Handbook "Coming Soon".

Is this a licensed preschool or daycare?
SPARK is a private preschool enrichment program, not a daycare. It is designed for families seeking a structured, arts-integrated half-day experience that prepares children for kindergarten through movement, play, and creative expression.
What ages is the program designed for?
The program is for children who are 3 or 4 years old as of September 1, 2026. All students must be independently toilet trained, able to communicate their wants and needs, and ready to share a classroom with other children.
How is this different from regular BASTX classes?
SPARK replaces the individual BASTX classes for this age group with a more comprehensive daily experience. Instead of a single weekly class, your child receives a full morning of dance training, early academics, and arts enrichment in one cohesive program.
What curriculum does the program use?
Our curriculum combines Frog Street and Zoo Phonics with premier dance training from BASTX. Children participate in ballet, tap, creative movement, acrobatic arts, early literacy, language development, math, science, social studies, and social-emotional learning.
Will students perform?
Yes. During the spring semester, students will learn age-appropriate choreography and perform both a ballet and a tap dance at the annual BASTX Student Showcase.
When does the school year start?
The 2026-2027 school year runs from August 11, 2026 through May 11, 2027. We observe the VISD academic calendar for holidays. Informational meetings are scheduled for March 12 and May 2026, with an open house on August 10, 2026.
What should my child bring each day?
Students should arrive in their SPARK dress code attire. We provide all supplies, snacks, and materials. A detailed supply and dress code list will be provided upon enrollment. If your child has allergies or dietary restrictions, please let us know during registration.
